Kiwanis Supports Elyria Teens
As part of its mission to support children’s literacy, the Kiwanis Club of Elyria and the Kaplan Family Foundation sponsored the Teen Lounge at the new Elyria Public Library Central Branch. Not Forgotten Box Toy Drive
Members of the Kiwanis Club of Elyria have donated to the annual Not Forgotten Box toy drive every year since the program began.

READ|WRITE|RIDE is a collaboration between the Kiwanis Club of Elyria and the Elyria City School District. The teachers select three book report finalists from each third-grade class to present an oral summary to Kiwanis judges, who use a ballot the reflects school standards.
With an added grant in2024 from the Ohio District Kiwanis Foundation for $2500 + 25 bike helmets, Elyria Kiwanis will award each classroom winner a 24” youth mountain bike and helmet.
READ|WRITE|RIDE was selected as the 2024 Ohio Kiwanis Signature Project Winner for the creative way it engages children in reading and promotes literacy in our community.
Our funding comes from member dues, donations, and FUNdraising through our signature events.
Parade of Flags
Elyria Kiwanis will provide, install, remove and properly store the flag for the following holidays: Memorial Day, Flag Day (June 14,) Independence Day (July 4,) Patriot Day (Sept. 11,) and Veterans Day (Nov. 11th) for $30 per calendar year. (63 years and counting…) Eat in or take out, we’re serving up a heaping helping of biscuits, strawberries, ice cream and whipped topping, along with other food and refreshments. Ticket sale provide funding for Kiwanis children’s programs.
